- Development of the Processing Center for Refractory and Double Refractory Ores from Deposits in the Far East and Arctic Region
The Khabarovsk Territory is currently implementing the project of a processing center in Advanced Special Economic Zone Komsomolsk that will process refractory and double refractory ores from deposits in the Far East and Arctic Region.
The project is implemented by Polymetal gold mining company on the site of the operating Amur Hydrometallurgical Plant (AGMK).
Once completed, Stage 2 of AGMK will make it possible process double refractory ores with an average sulfur content of up to 17% and organic carbon content and increase the capacity of the processing complex from 225,000 tons to 525,000 tons of concentrate per year.
Amursk will have one of the Asia-Pacific Region’s largest and Russia’s first complex capable of processing the gold concentrates that cannot be processed by using the established industrial practices (processing of double refractory ores).
The total project investment exceeds RUB 42 bln (with due regard for the past costs of AGMK Stage 1), including RUB 5.7 bln invested by the FEDF.
AGMK Stage 2 is scheduled to be commissioned in 2023.
