Far Eastern Regions Received Over 1 mln Protection Kits from FEDF during the Pandemic

The Far East and Arctic Region Development Fund (FEDF) has furnished over 1 mln personal protection kits in total to Far Eastern regions during the pandemic. This information was shared by Alexei Chekunkov, FEDF CEO, during the live broadcast on the Your Far East portal.

Additional medical equipment is being procured for the Federal District upon instruction of Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation — Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation to the Far Eastern Federal District, with assistance of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East. The funding is allocated by FEDF jointly with major companies implementing projects in the macroregion.

“Everything has been delivered already: 20 trucks carrying 1.1 mln of personal protection kits including protective overalls, respirators, masks, gloves, that were transferred to all Far Eastern regions directly by the manufacturers”, said Mr. Chekunkov.

He reminded that the procurement had been funded with assistance from the companies operating in the Russian Far East. A total of RUB 1 bln has been raised for these purposes including 80% allocated by private businesses and the rest — by FEDF.

As previously reported by the Fund, apart from individual protection equipment, five Far Eastern regions (Buryatia, Zabaikalye Territory, Jewish Autonomous Region, Magadan Region, and Kamchatka Territory) have received direct financial aid to purchase the necessary medical equipment. RUB 300 mln has been allocated for those purposes.
