Far East Development Fund will take part in construction of pig-breeding complex in Russian Far East

Far East and Baikal Region Development Fund and RusAgro Group of Companies have agreed to cooperate in the implementation of agricultural projects in the Far East, including projects on the territory of accelerated social-economic development (TASED) “Mikhailovskaya” in Primorsky Krai. In this regard during the Eastern Economic Forum Alexei Chekunkov, CEO of Far East and Baikal Region Development Fund, and Maksim Basov, CEO of RusAgro Group of Companies have signed the agreement.
RusAgro Group of Companies is implementing a number of projects in the livestock farming and plant-growing sectors, as well as projects on the processing of oil plant with the total value of RUB 31,8 billion. Particularly, one of the projects involve construction and equipment of pig-breeding facility located on the TASED “Mikhailovskaya”, with capacity of 100 thousand tons per year live weight basis. The products will be oriented primary to the domestic market. The project also includes the construction of own slaughterhouse, recycling facility, compound feed mill with capacity of 240 thousand tons per year and elevator with capacity of 180 thousand tons of grain.
The FEDF investments in the project realization will amount to RUB 3 billion. The facilities will provide people in the Far East with high-quality chilled meat, as well as this project will balance market prices for the meat products. According to preliminary estimates, the projects implementation will ensure the regional GDP increase of RUB 52,8 billion and tax revenue increase of RUB 2,8 billion. More than 1,9 thousand of new workplaces will be created.
